
2022 Google Kids Initiative Recipients

$200,000 was awarded to Indigitize Computer Science, a project of One Generation, supporting access for Indigenous communities by creating, supporting, and advocating for learning ecosystems that focus on Indigenous students.

$220,000 was awarded to Computer Science Alliance, an education hub for computer science and computational thinking, empowering educators and schools with the needed tools for computational curriculum and leveraging industry alliances with a vision for a future technical workforce.

$500,000 was awarded to the Silver City Consolidated School District. Silver City Consolidated Schools serves over 2,500 students and employs approximately 259 teachers and 224 support personnel.
They are structured in a configuration of an early learning center which houses Pre-K and Kindergarten, 1-6, 7-8, and 9-12. The team provides a 1-1 device program from Pre-K through 12th grade. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are provided with iPads for school and home use while students in grades 1st through 12th grade utilize touchscreen Chromebooks.
Google Kids Initiative Grant Program
The New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, Google™ and New Mexico Community Trust have partnered to provide up to $3.85 million in grant funding through the Google Kids Initiative to promote online safety and empower students through technology for students in the state.
Grants for this statewide initiative will fund programs that focus on increasing access to technology among children in underserved areas and educating children on how to safely use that technology.
Funding amounts are flexible and awards amounts may be up to $500,000 over 2 years.
